Attention all families that pick-up students at the north end of the building (4th-5th grade area):

We need your help to ensure that all students and drivers are safe. PLEASE follow proper procedure by continuing around the S. Yukon Dr. loop after picking your child up. Thank you for your attention to this matter of safety.

Congratulations to Sara!
She was the November winner of the
Brown Bear Student Credit Union drawing.

Thank you for your generosity, Brown School! All together, our school community donated 527 items to the Toys for Tots drive! WOW! Thank you for your amazing generosity!
Mrs. Brown and Mr. Lignell's classes pulled ahead to earn the pizza party prize for Toys for Tots donations. Thank you to Chris Thompson of Farmers Insurance for sponsoring this important cause.

Inclement Weather & School Cancellation Announcements
In the event of inclement weather, announcements regarding school closures and delays will be made via School Messenger and posted with local news outlets. Please be sure we have your most up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses on file in the school office. Two hour delays work very similarly to our late start days, just one hour later. School would begin at 10:25 a.m. - buses would run two hours later than normal.

Winter Bus Reminders
Students waiting for their bus are reminded not to climb on snow piles near intersections or in roadways. No snowball fighting or throwing is allowed. When possible, it is recommended that at least one adult from the stop is present with the students while waiting. The drivers may require extra time on days when it is slick. Thank you for your patience.

Toys for Tots
It’s that time of year again! Our Student Council invites you to fill Santa’s sack to help those less fortunate by donating to Toys for Tots. Classrooms will be collecting donations Monday, November 26 through Friday, December 7. The two classes that bring in the most donations will receive a pizza party with Silver Beach Pizza courtesy of Chris Thompson at Farmers Insurance in Stevensville.

Donations must be new, unwrapped toys and could be for a wide age range. All donations will stay locally in the Benton Harbor/Stevensville/Saint Joseph area. We appreciate all of your support in years past and look forward to another great Holiday season. Thank you in advance for your help!

Focus on Engagement
As a school staff we continue to focus on student engagement throughout our school day. We know that providing timely, in-the-moment feedback while learners are grappling with new concepts is essential to growth.

We ask that you honor a 24-hour rule for email correspondence as teachers and other support staff members are impacting growth and inspiring the learning of students during the school day. Therefore, if you have an urgent message related changes to your child's schedule, please communicate those through the main office. Please call 926-3501 and our office staff will be sure to deliver the message to staff members.

If you are not yet a member of our closed Brown Elementary PTO group, please request membership today! We post important reminders and just-in-time news from school throughout the week.
