We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to preorder your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch. This helps speed up the morning lunch count process. You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.

Due to the supply chain issues we are having with our vendors and food outages we will be providing a one week menu on our website and Principal blogs on the Sunday before the next week. This will alleviate us having to make constant changes to a monthly menu and keep you better informed.

Big picture

Let's show our educators they are appreciated!

We want to share your stories about how our educators have shown support and dedication to our students. We are looking for stories about all education personnel – teachers, bus drivers, school lunch staff, paraprofessionals, custodians, coaches, librarians, administrative assistants, and anyone who is an important part of a student’s educational success.

To submit a story about a St. Joseph educator that has made a lasting impact on a student, please send story background, participant names, relevant pictures, and any pertinent information including quotes and specific story elements to Kelly Gaideski, Campaign Contact, at kgaideski@sjschools.org.

Bucks for Brown is Looking Ahead

We are looking for a few more people to round out our Bucks for Brown committee.  These roles would be in planning next year’s event and helping secure business sponsors for next year.

We also are looking for a couple of people who would be interested in heading up the spring picnic together.  This year would be spent working with the current chair, and next year the new leads would take over.

If you are interested in either committee, please contact Sheri Baker or Kristen Bawks.

Future Events

Most of our PTO events for the school year are already scheduled and can be

Upcoming Author Visit

As part of our March is Reading Month Celebration this year, students and staff will have the opportunity to hear from author Marc Tyler Nobleman on March 9. He is a self-described "author of books for all ages, speaker, and pop culture archaeologist." His presentation centers around the power of reading and research. In advance of his visit, we are partnering with Forever Books to offer a few of his books for purchase. Order forms will be sent home on Monday, February 14. You can also access the form here. If you are interested in ordering any of these books, please complete the order form and return it along with payment to school before February 23. Books will be signed by the author and given to students after Mr. Nobleman's visit.

Thank you to  all of our families who were able to donate to the Wellness Bar for our amazing staff! We are so thankful for your support.

Lego “Night” - Hybrid Format

Lego Night will not be held in person this year for families.  Instead, we are offering a virtual option like last year AND we will be offering build time during lunch recesses on February 22nd and 23rd for any interested students.  We will still be giving away some fun prizes, so be sure to check out our Lego Night website!  Students who choose to participate during their lunch hour do not need to fill out an online form for the prize drawings. To enter the drawings from home, create something that shows what you love about Brown School, and then enter the drawing here.

Due to the format change, we could also use a few volunteers to help supervise the build times on the 22nd and 23rd.  If you would like to give 30 minutes of your time and have a background check on file, sign up for a time slot here.  Thank you!  PTO events cannot run without volunteers!

From the Upton PTO

Dear Parents,

It’s hard to believe we’re entering into the second half of the school year already!

The Upton PTO (UPTO) is actively looking to fill 3 spots on their board as these dedicated volunteer’s students are graduating in June.

Please consider being a part of your student’s middle school experience!
