On Tuesday, February 15 at 7pm join us for our February Brown PTO Meeting! Come catch up on everything your PTO has been doing, and help us make plans for the rest of the school year. With a student at Brown, every family is a member of our PTO. Children are always welcome.

We will also have an option to meet us virtually on Google Meet.

Lego “Night” - Hybrid Format

Lego Night will not be held in person this year for families.  Instead, we are offering a virtual option like last year AND we will be offering build time during lunch recesses on February 22nd and 23rd for any interested students.  We will still be giving away some fun prizes, so be sure to check out our Lego Night website!  Students who choose to participate during their lunch hour do not need to fill out an online form for the prize drawings. To enter the drawings from home, create something that shows what you love about Brown School, and then enter the drawing here.

Due to the format change, we could also use a few volunteers to help supervise the build times on the 22nd and 23rd.  If you would like to give 30 minutes of your time and have a background check on file, sign up for a time slot here.  Thank you!  PTO events cannot run without volunteers!

Yearbooks

It’s time to order your 2021-22 Brown School Yearbook! Please order online by Sunday, February 20th at https://prepay.geskusphoto.com/?YB=3716

5th Grade Parents

Thank you so much to everyone who has signed up to help with the 5th Grade Farewell activities so far! There are still a few more spaces that need to be filled.

Please CLICK HERE to sign up.

  • We are needing everyone to send your child’s baby picture for the “Guess Who” display. You can email it to Brooke Roberts at Blr182010@gmail.com.  We need those before March 1st please. If you are unable to email us a picture please send a hard copy with your student, no larger than 4x6, and we will make a copy of it and return it to you.

Also if you have not donated your $15 towards our funding for the ceremony & t-shirts please do (check email from your childs’ teacher about “Oscar Night”).

  • Please sign up to volunteer handing out hot drinks during 3rd recess every Monday & Thursday in February.  It’is one of the three fundraisers the 5th graders are having to raise money for their class gift.

Check out volunteer dates/times: Sign-Up

From the Upton PTO

Dear Parents,

It’s hard to believe we’re entering into the second half of the school year already!

The Upton PTO (UPTO) is actively looking to fill 3 spots on their board as these dedicated volunteer’s students are graduating in June.

Please consider being a part of your student’s middle school experience!

Bucks for Brown is Looking Ahead

We are looking for a few more people to round out our Bucks for Brown committee.  These roles would be in planning next year’s event and helping secure business sponsors for next year.

We also are looking for a couple of people who would be interested in heading up the spring picnic together.  This year would be spent working with the current chair, and next year the new leads would take over.

If you are interested in either committee, please contact Sheri Baker or Kristen Bawks.

Future Events

Most of our PTO events for the school year are already scheduled and can be

viewed here.  If you would like to help with any of these events, you can indicate interest through our form here.

Save the date for these upcoming hybrid PTO meetings.  We will meet in the media center as well as offer a virtual connection option:

February 15 at 7pm (join virtually here)

March 15 at 12:15

April 19 at 7pm

May 17 at 12:15pm

Our fifth graders recently participated in cross
country skiing at Sarett Nature Center.

Our Young Fives and Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school last Friday. This day of celebration included many different counting activities and games. A huge thanks to our staff and volunteers for making this day so special for our primary learners.

News from the Lunch Room

We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student.   Please try to remember to preorder your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch.  This helps speed up the morning lunch count process.  You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.

Due to the supply chain issues we are having with our vendors and food outages we will be providing a one week menu on our website and Principal blogs on the Friday before the next week.   This will alleviate us having to make constant changes to a monthly menu and keep you better informed.

In advance of his visit, we are partnering with Forever Books to offer a few of his books for purchase. Order forms will be sent home on Monday, February 14. You can also access the form here. If you are interested in ordering any of these books, please complete the order form and return it along with payment to school before February 23.
