We're sure you've heard the great news by now - our playground is finished and open for fun and it is incredible! The students are enjoying exploring the different aspects of the circuit, as well as the egg-shaped "orb". We're proud to report that they have been very respectful of each other and mindful of safety as well.
We are still anticipating the arrival of a large canopy shade over the picnic tables in the courtyard, as well as edging around the mulch. Our canopies will be added to the four shade structures in the spring (post snowfall) in order to preserve the material. Feel free to come after school hours to enjoy the playground as a family.

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our media center staff, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.
After missing out on many beloved traditions, our winter Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from December 6 - December 10 in our school library/media centers.
We will host a Family Night! Plan on stopping by on Monday, Dec 6 from 5:30-7:30 to pick up your books!
Students will have opportunities to purchase books throughout the week at their scheduled library time or during recess breaks.

Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! Cash, checks, and credit cards will also be accepted.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Thank you to all who have volunteered lately. You have helped stock the teachers’ lounge, provide a luncheon for our staff during conferences, helped students shop at the Holiday Shop, and serve at the Thanksgiving luncheon! It’s been a busy few weeks, and we appreciate everyone for showing up to help.
Volunteer Opportunity
This year the 3rd Grade presentation of the nutcracker is being performed at the High School! We are looking for 4-5 volunteers to help transport our students from the lobby to the choir room on that night from 7:15-7:45pm on Thursday December 16. We’d love volunteers that are not parents of third graders. Please let Kristen or myself know if you can help with this!
Gift Ideas for Staff
If you are looking for a way to treat a staff member to a small gift, please check out this link for some ideas for them: Staff Preferences. We’ve compiled a list of favorite drinks, snacks, flowers, etc for anyone who filled out our survey. Please do NOT feel obligated to treat a teacher or staff member! However, we know many families do so either mid-year or at the end of the year and wanted to help with ideas.
Brown Bear Credit Union is OPEN!
Brown Bear Credit Union, a division of Honor Credit Union, is now in operation! Students may make deposits to their accounts every Friday from 8:20 to 8:45 am. Bucks for Brown is Looking Ahead
We are looking for a few more people to round out our Bucks for Brown committee. These roles would be in planning next year’s event and helping secure business sponsors for next year.
We also are looking for a couple of people who would be interested in heading up the spring picnic together. This year would be spent working with the current chair, and next year the new leads would take over.

News from the Lunch Room
We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to preorder your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch. This helps speed up the morning lunch count process. You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using
Due to the supply chain issues we are having with our vendors and food outages we will be providing a one week menu on our website and Principal blogs on the Friday before the next week. This will alleviate us having to make constant changes to a monthly menu and keep you better informed.
