Upcoming Volunteer Needs

- Ice Skating: The annual ice skating date is Friday, February 14th. Please fill out the form in the link above if you are interested in helping - you do NOT need to know how to skate! We need help putting skates on, tying laces, as well as on the ice (even in your shoes). You MUST have a background check on file with the school to volunteer with students! Please contact Sarah Codde in the office for a background check form. Shifts will be listed with the classes in attendance at that time so you can be there to watch your child. - Media Center: Help in the Media Center is a continuing need. If you are interested in assisting with book returns, check-out, reshelving books and class activity centers, please fill out a volunteer form and we will contact you. You choose which shifts (45 minutes per shift) you would like to sign up for - the teachers for each shift are listed so you can coordinate with your student’s time in the Media Center. - Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Media Center on March 23 - 27th. A volunteer signup will be made available soon.
- Lego Night: Lego night is coming up quickly (Feb 27th)! Those who expressed interest in helping with this event will be contacted shortly. If you did not let us know earlier this year (via the online interest form), it’s not too late! We are looking for a donations of new Lego sets to give away as prizes that evening. Pennies for Patients Continues!
Brown School continues its participation in Pennies for Patients through February 14th. This is a service-learning program that gives students the unique experience of working together to help raise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults fighting against blood cancers! We are asking that everyone (students, faculty, parents, alumni, etc.) at Brown School join in this effort of raising awareness and collecting funds to benefit the mission of LLS: to find cures for blood cancers and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Click this link for online donations. You will need to create account (I selected “log in with Google” and it was pretty simple and straightforward). In the “Get Involved” box - click on Join Your School Team. Online giving is most efficient. If you set up online giving for your student, you can now share the link through Facebook Fundraisers. Then you can share the link with family and friends near and far, so they can donate too.
You can also contribute by filling the collection box coins/dollars at home. Please send in collection boxes to school either when they are full or at the end of the campaign on Friday 2/14. Your classroom teacher will add your donation to the class collection bag. There are even some fun incentives!
