Announcements
Lego night is THIS thursday, February 27 from 6-7:30. Join us for an evening of games, free building, speed build contests and more. The entire family is welcome - we will even have some Duplo stations set up for the little ones!
Spring Bearwear Sale
We will be having a Spring Bearwear Sale starting Monday, February 18th. Online orders will be taken for two weeks and will be delivered in early April. There will be a sample rack available to check out at Lego Night.
When ordering, please put your child’s name and teacher in the notes section of the order form. Thanks!

- Lego Night: Lego night is coming up quickly (Feb 27th)! There are still many open spots to help out with Lego Night. If you are interested please sign up for a position here: https://signup.com/go/CZiaLVt. You must have a background check completed with the school - if you are unsure of your status please contact the office.
- Media Center: Help in the Media Center is a continuing need. If you are interested in assisting with book returns, check-out, re-shelving books and class activity centers, please fill out a volunteer form and we will contact you. You choose which shifts (45 minutes per shift) you would like to sign up for - the teachers for each shift are listed so you can coordinate with your student’s time in the Media Center. The sign-up has been updated with 3rd - 5th grade spots through Spring Break. Please note: the dates are subject to change. https://signup.com/go/gAFMxHJ
- Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Media Center on March 23rd - 27th. Signup.com has been set up for the book fair. Here is the link to sign up and volunteer:
We will need help with the preview day, March 20th, as well as ringing up sales during the fair. As Scholastic is a much bigger fair than the last fair, a little help packing up the fair to send back would be appreciated.

Brown Bear Student Credit Union is open every Friday from 8:00-8:25 a.m. and is designed to help students start the journey of good savings habits. Brown Bear Student CU offers your student the ability to make weekly deposits into their savings account at school and offers rewards to keep them motivated to save. There is a small prize for every deposit. Every deposit is entered into a monthly drawing to win a gift basket with a $10.00 gift card and is also entered into an annual drawing to win an iPad Mini! All new accounts opened with at least $1.00 will be credited $10.00 from Honor CU! To get started, review and complete the attached account form and have your child bring it to Brown Bear Student CU along with a deposit. We look forward to helping your student on their savings journey at Brown Bear Student CU!

READ ALONG FOR A COUPLE OF BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS...
"BUCKS FOR BROWN" IS COMING NEXT FALL
We’d like to share some exciting news! Your Brown PTO and the Walk-a-Thon committee have been hard at work designing a new walk-a-thon fundraising event called Bucks for Brown.
This event will replace our current three week walk-a-thon and make it possible to hold our main fundraiser in an exciting ONE day event. Families will be invited to come cheer on our runners on a fun-filled afternoon in October as we raise money for our amazing school.
Not to worry, students will still have the opportunity to earn charms and achieve fitness goals twice per year (fall and spring) during Mileage Club. If you have interest in chairing this club, please reach out to Kristen Bawks.

Brown School Playground Update - Summer 2020
We have more amazing news to share...Brown School will be gifted a playground makeover this summer! Our district is planning to allocate Building and Site funds to create a new playscape for Brown School students this summer. Our hope is to have updated equipment, shade for students and a walking track makeover. More details to come soon.
