The Brown School Student Council has planned an exciting week for our students and staff. We hope you will all participate in the fun!
News from the Lunch Room
We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to pre-order your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch. This helps speed up the morning lunch count process. You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.
Due to the supply chain issues we are having with our vendors and food outages we will be providing a one week menu on our website and Principal blogs on the Friday before the next week. This will alleviate us having to make constant changes to a monthly menu and keep you better informed.

Your Child is in the Brown Elementary Art Show!
In appreciation of our beautiful student artwork, we will hold the first Elementary Art Show at Brown Elementary School! You, your family, and your friends are invited to the opening reception Thursday, May 12th, from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. The opening reception is a celebration to mark the start of the show. You may stop in ANY TIME during the opening to see both your child’s artwork and artwork from other elementary students in our school. We hope to see you there!
This art show will be on display at Brown School until Wednesday, June 1st. If you are unable to come to the opening, please make sure you stop by to see your child’s work before the 1st of June during after school hours. Thank you for all your hard work. We are very proud of YOU and your success in art!

Spring Picnic is BACK in full swing!
The Spring Picnic is BACK!!!!!
We will have the inflatable obstacle course, sno cones, cotton candy and TONS of fun carnival style games! This will be an end of school year party that the kids won't forget!!!
Please sign up to volunteer in the link below. You may only attend the picnic if you are signed up to volunteer! If you are able to stay for both "shifts" please do so. We will need all the help we can get with this!

Elementary Track Meet Returns THIS Friday!
The elementary track meet returns this Friday, May 6th (rain date May 13th)! This is an annual competition between the three district elementary schools and is always a highlight of the spring. We will need 20 volunteers to help out that day from 10am-about 3pm. Responsibilities will include facilitating event stations such as long-jump, shot put, and sprints. Training/instructions will be provided by the PE teachers prior to students arriving the day of the event.
This event is not well-suited for siblings to attend in a volunteer capacity, but spectators are always welcome!

Spring Cleaning Donations
If you are sorting through old sports equipment, don’t forget you can drop it off at Sports44 under the BrownPTO account (just tell them it’s for Brown School and they will take care of it). Any sales will support PTO activities.
The PTO is looking for some card making supplies. If you have some items like construction paper, scrapbooking paper, stickers, ect that you would like to donate, you can drop them off this week in the office.
Special Dates Coming Up
We love to support and celebrate our students and staff everyday and here are some special days coming up that we can show even more appreciation!
May 3- May 6 - Staff Appreciation Week
A Cinco de Mayo lunch is being planned by the PTO to occur Thursday during Staff Appreciation week. If you would like to contribute towards the costs, please give donations to Ms. Gaver in the office, or contact Sara Eckert (502-235-6456) with questions.
Monday:
Come out anytime on Monday, May 2 (elementary students have the day off) and decorate the sidewalks outside of all the school doors with positive messages and pictures to kick off Staff Appreciation week. Chalk will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Have fun with this!

Book Fair
We’re sending our sincere gratitude for making our Book Fair an outstanding success!
Thanks to your contributions, we sold a lot of books at our Fair and raised money to purchase new books for our school.
Our reward for hosting a Book Fair is watching your kids discover new books. All that joy wouldn’t be possible without volunteers from our school community – you deserve our special thanks.
We hope to see you and your child at our next Fair. Until then, happy reading!
